Title: Maintenance Aid 1
Reports to: Aquatic Maintenance Supervisor
Expected hours: Continuous: 6-20 hours weekly. Evenings and weekends.
Position Purpose
The Aquatic Maintenance individual is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, clean and attractive aquatic facility for the general public and any special use groups. Individuals will achieve and maintain high safety and performance standards in compliance with River Road Park and Recreation District philosophies, policies and procedures.
Supervision Received
Works without direct supervision but in conjunction with other Aquatic team members. Performance reviewed by Aquatic Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director of Facility Operations.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Cleans and disinfect dressing rooms, pool decks, spa area, sauna, hallways, fitness center and related equipment e.g., drinking fountains, sinks, urinals, toilets, tiles in the facility, exercise equipment.
2. Vacuum and brush swimming pool, brush and fill spas with water, clean and sanitize touch surfaces.
3. Empty trash and replace liners if needed, scrub and sanitize containers if needed.
4. Completes water chemistry tests on all bodies of water.
5. Participates in maintenance staff in-service trainings and meetings, may also include some aquatic staff trainings.
6. Assists in general upkeep of the facility and park.
7. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Aquatic Maintenance Supervisor.

3. Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
4. Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
5. Ability to maintain records and prepare accurate reports.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to high temperatures and high humidity. This position requires bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling and crouching; often in conjunction with reaching for and manipulating objects and cleaning equipment. Successful candidates will work with a wide assortment of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers and pool chemicals on a daily basis. Individuals will exert up to 25lbs of force on a regular basis, 50lbs or force frequently, 100lbs occasionally with assistance. This work requires the individual to be standing/walking on hard surfaces 90-100% of the scheduled hours.
Personal Protective Equipment
This position requires individuals to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Personal Protective Equipment includes but is not limited to: face shield, hearing protection, splash resistant goggles, chemical gloves, rubber boots and chemical apron.

Pay: $15.05 to $19.86 per hour
