Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
We will leave on time. You may get left behind if are late so please allow yourself enough time.
End times are estimated.
Please park vehicles in the back of the parking lot, near Lake Drive.
We use motor coaches when possible. When we do, it is customary to tip the driver $2-3 cash.
Make sure you have emergency info/contacts in your wallet.
Some are allergic to perfume so we ask that you keep your fragrance to a minimum.

Long Timber Brewing & Hull Oaks

Is the first commercial brewery in Monroe.  The population of 742 may be small, but it sees about 4,500 cars pass through every day.  This is the kind of town where everyone knows everyone.  The lodge-style building cost around $3.5 million and is the newest project from Hull-Oakes Lumber Mill owners Todd and Amy Nystrom.  This is no sports bar.  The full service restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.  The menus consist of large portions of food, some of which comes from local farms.  If you want to see more big wood than one can shake a stick at come with us. BUT first we will tour Hull-Oakes lumber company. The only steam driven lumber mill left in North America. The mill was founded in the late l930’s and has provided jobs for all these years and has never been shut down.  Your cost includes: transportation, tour and lunch.

Museum Day

Today will be a day for rock lovers, artists and metal detectors. What? Sounds crazy, huh? We will start off the day by visiting the Living Rock Studio in Brownsville. This place looks absolutely non-descript from the outside but inside, it’s nothing short of amazing.  This attraction is a circular, two story house designed and built by hand out of a life time collection of rocks, agates, petrified wood, flagstone and crystals. You will be amazed.  Then off to lunch at the Point Restaurant where they serve up old fashioned goodness.  Then it’s off to Sweet Home to a museum of items found by metal detectors.  A room of booty unearthed is on exhibit, thanks to White’s metal detectors. What a day! Your cost includes: transportation, lunch and museum donations.

Sisters Harvest Faire

Now in its 34th year, this faire brings together over 200 juried vendors of handcrafted quality arts and crafts.  This trip has been an annual hit so you don’t want to miss out this go around. Oregon Culinary Institute

This is no soup and sandwich diner, this will be a complete three course lunch.  OCI is Portland’s only locally owned and operated culinary institute, and their philosophy mirrors their surroundings, fresh, seasonal and local.  Students are able to put what they learn into practice at their own open to the public fine dining restaurant.   After a wonderful meal, three miles away is Albertina Kerr’s thrift shop!  The best of Portland! Bring some moola for any bargains you might find! Your cost includes: transportation and lunch.

Verboort Sausage Festival 

It began in 1934, and now they serve over 17 tons of sausage.  You know it’s good! The dinner is all you can eat homemade Verboort sausage, sauerkraut, green salad, potatoes/gravy, green beans, roll, applesauce, lemon or apple pie and a drink.  While there you may visit the beautiful Visitation Church and school, where there are crafts, games, homemade candy and baked goods for purchase.  Your cost includes: transportation and dinner.

Salmon Celebration at the Thyme Garden

You asked for it, you got it!  Don’t miss this year’s guided Salmon Walk and Herbal Dinner at the Thyme Garden in Alsea.  Come and experience this beautiful event when the salmon come back to their spawning grounds to complete their life cycle while starting a new one.  Then feast on a six course homemade herbal dinner from appetizers to dessert.  The day will start at one o’clock with appetizers and beverages followed by a walkabout to see the salmon spawning in the streams.  Wear comfortable walking shoes if you plan on doing the walkabout.  Feel free to bring wine if you want. U of O Theatre presents – “Tartuffe”

Tartuffe, or the impostor, or the hypocrite, first performed in 1664, is one of the most famous theatrical comedies by Moliere.  The characters of Tartuffe, Elmire, and Orgon are considered among the greatest classical theatre roles.  This play is a humorous tale of an honest man taken in by the schemes of a con man.  This comedy is a warning about deception, but it also points out that there are people who are sincerely devout.  Before the play we will dine at Ambrosia.  Your cost includes: transportation, dinner and the play.

Overnight Trips

 

Christmas in Leavenworth | December 2-5, 2019

Leavenworth is a town specifically designed with Christmas in mind so get ready! You’re going to love it! We will be staying at the Enzian Inn, right in the heart of things. We’ll be busy during our 3 night stay but you will also have free time to do as you please.  It’s the perfect mix. We will indulge in an incredible daily breakfast that will get your motor going every day, enjoy a fun sleigh ride with humor and hot chocolate and visit a reindeer farm. We have planned three special dinners that will have your taste buds singing. Two special and wonderful concerts; a hand bell concert and a harp concert. If you cancel and want a check refund, $5 will be deducted for admin processing. No cancellation fee for refunds in the form of a credit.
