Preschool, After-school and Childcare

 

Fall Registration 2016-17. Registration is currently under way. 

• There is a non-refundable $30 annual registration/supply fee for all preschool and child care programs.
• The State of Oregon Health Department requires current immunization records for each child before the first day of attendance.
• Monthly fees for all childrens programs are averaged out for the year and include some holidays and some “no school” days.
• Please see the office for a schedule.

Note: These are 2016-17 no school days for our Playschool, Preschool and Prekindergarten programs.

Ages 2. Must be age 2 as of September 1. NO AGE EXCEPTIONS. Give your preschooler the opportunity to interact with children his/her own age. Our program enhances their physical, social, mental and emotional well-being. Activities include arts, crafts, songs, stories, dramatic play, large muscle play and more. Our program also helps children who will be away from parents for their first time. Please dress your child in play clothes. Instructors: Sherry Smith & Geanna Hall

Preschool A.M.

NOTE: PRESCHOOL CLASS STARTS ON SEPTEMBER 8.
Ages 3. Must be age 3 by September 1 and fully potty trained (no pull ups please! NO AGE EXCEPTIONS). Children learn to work and play as part of a group. Making friends, learning to take turns, listening and expressing feelings in acceptable ways, will make them feel good about themselves while in “school.” Our activities include songs, games, arts and crafts, cooking, musical instruments and dramatic play along with active and quiet times. Instructors: Sally Pravel & Charlotte Goschie.

Friendship Circle Preschool – P.M.

NOTE: FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE CLASS STARTS ON SEPTEMBER 13.
Ages 3-4. Must be age 3 by September 1. NO AGE EXCEPTIONS. Potty trained prefered but not required. This class will serve children with typical development as well as children with special needs. This unique class offering is a collaboration between River Road Park District and the University of Oregon’s College of Education Childhood CARES program. This quality integrated class will be instructed by teachers from both programs offering learning through music, games, crafts and role playing. Limited to 16 students.
9/13-5/25 . . . TuTh . . . 1-3:30p . . . $100 ID/$120 OD/month

Prekindergarten

NOTE: PREKINDERGARTEN CLASS STARTS ON SEPTEMBER 7.
Ages 4-5. Must be age 4 as of September 1. (NO AGE EXCEPTIONS.) Children will prepare for kindergarten by focusing on learning colors, shapes, the alphabet and numbers (Counting, forms, comparisons, sets). Games, music, arts, crafts, and cooking activities encourage large and small motor control development and provide an opportunity to improve social skills and develop a positive self-image. Instructors: Sally Pravel & Charlotte Goschie.

Afterschool Care & Childcare

A.S.A. P. After-School Adventure Program

A.S.A.P. PROGRAM STARTS SEPTEMBER 7.
Grades K-5. A.S.A.P. is an extended-care service for children with working parents. Certified drivers safely transport children in park district vans from their school to River Road Park, where they will participate in a variety of recreational activities promoting self-esteem, social skills and the value of using leisure time wisely. We are certified with the USDA snack program. The program operates after school and on most scheduled no-school days. OPEN TO FULL . . . TIME PARTICIPANTS ONLY (M-F, 5 days per week, no exceptions). We are currently serving Awbrey Park, Howard, Corridor, River Road, Spring Creek and Yujin Gakuen elementary schools. For information call the park office at 541-688-4052 or your school’s office. See 4J School District calendar for dates. M-F fees and schedules vary and can be picked up at the main office. Tuition is averaged out over a 9 month period not including Winter or Spring Break.

Open to children grades 1-5. Join us for a winter vacation you are sure to remember! We’ll be swimming, playing games, sports activities, doing arts and crafts and going on field trips. Snacks will be provided. Children should bring a sack lunch and a swimming suit each day. Register at the Park office, space is limited. Minimum enrollment, 3 days. Drop off for camp begins at 8a.

Extra Care: 4-6p . . . $35 ID/OD per week

Spring Break Camp

Open to children grades 1-5. Join us for a week of fun and adventure as we turn spring vacation into an experience to remember! We’ll be swimming, playing games, doing arts and crafts and going on field trips. Snacks will be provided. Children should bring a sack lunch and a swimming suit each day. Register at the Park office, space is limited. Drop off for camp begins at 7:30a.
3/27-31 . . . M-F . . . 9a-4p . . . Weekly: $120 ID/ $140 OD
Extra Care: 4-6p . . . $45 ID/OD per week

Infants/Toddlers.Child care is available by the hour. Punch cards are also available at the Park office (10 hours for $36). Child care will not be held when adult Aerobics & Slimnastics classes are between sessions. For after school care see ASAP. Instructor: April Oestreich
