The Joy of Creating, Drawing & Painting For Children (8wks)
This course is designed to be tons of fun while simultaneously giving children an introduction to drawing and painting. We will start very simply by creating objects using shapes such as circles, lines, dots and triangles, etc...We’ll progress on, to sketching from graphics and real life. Art techniques like composition, color mixing, placement and shading will be worked into the curriculum. Freedom of expression will be encouraged and having fun is a must!
Bring a 14X17 drawing tablet, a pencil, and a big eraser to the first class. A $5.00 supply fee will cover paints, markers, brushes and illustration board. Please pay fee at front office when you register.

Twinkle Toes (8 wks)
Ages 2-3. Twinkle and shine - rhythm and rhyme. Twinkle toes is all about moving your body to the beat of the music. Come slither like a snake, hop like a bunny or fly like a butterfly. Lets point our toes and reach for the sky. Making new friends and joining in on dancing and music is what Twinkle Toes is all about. All dancers must be registered at the office two days prior to or the Friday before the first class. - Limited Openings.

Tiny Dancers (8 wks)
Ages 4-6. This class will focus on tap-jazz-ballet technique, spatial awareness, movement comfort, coordination and socialization in a fun atmosphere. In this hour, tiny dancers will start to develop everything the Little Dancers class focuses on, as well as the very basics of dance, movement and rhythm through play dancing. Tap shoes are encouraged.
All dancers must be registered at the office two days prior or the Friday before the first class.

Jr. Razz (8 wks)
Ages 7-13. It’s time to step up and dance! Jr Razz offers jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop and performance technique on top of self discipline and new friendships. This class will incorporate creative dance play with a more advanced dance technique. With more dedication and new chance choreograph, we will be doing a number of performances throughout the year. Free Hula Dance Workshop For Kids (Ages 5-12)
A child's introduction to the culture of Hawai'i through the tradition of hula. This half-hour workshop will cover basic words and phrases, hula steps, story-telling and FUN! Ages 5-12. A Cultural Immersion Series for Youth Program created by Kumu Iwalani as a Community Partnership for Cultural Education and Awareness with River Road Parks & Recreation. Jean received her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the Peabody Institute of The John Hopkins University. She recently moved to Eugene from Staten Island, New York where she taught piano at the Julia Music School and the Staten Island Conservatory of Music. Self Defense
Tae Kwon Do (ongoing)
Open to ages 7 & up. Tae Kwon Do is a traditional Korean martial art performed with empty hands, bare feet and strong spirit. Students in the beginning of class will learn kicking and hand techniques for self defense, while developing their physical fitness and self confidence. The intermediate class offers advanced training in non-contact sparring forms of self defense skills for students wishing to advance in the belt ranking system. Held at Prairie Hall. Karate and Self-Defense (ongoing)
Open to ages 10 & up. Learn modern self-defense concepts and techniques united with classic Karate forms and methods, with major emphasis placed on women and children’s self-defense. Self-defense training includes expanding your knowledge of the potential dangers, and personal awareness of your surroundings, as well as improving your physical defensive skills. The classic Karate training includes the use of ancient and modern Kata (forms) to learn the science of movement to generate power and improve agility. Included is the traditional method of recognizing achievement and advancement with the colored belt system, based on the performance of various Kata, the knowledge of martial arts history and self-defense concepts. Baby Sitting & Safety (workshop)
The Babysitters Training Course is a American Red Cross offering that will teach you the responsibilities and qualities of being a good baby sitter and what to expect from the person who hires you. You’ll also learn how to; interview for a babysitting job, make responsible decisions, supervise children, keep kids safe inside and out of the house, choose appropriate toys, handle emergencies, perform first aid, and perform basic care (such as diapering, feeding and dressing of infants) along with preparation of simple meals and snacks. The Babysitters Handbook a full color, heavily illustrated content-rich resource is provided for use in this course and on the job. American Red Cross Certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. A Safety & First Aid Kit will be available for purchase through the instructor for an additional small fee.
