Tips

Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
We will leave on time. You may get left behind if are late so please allow yourself enough time.
End times are estimated.
Please park vehicles in the back of the parking lot, near Lake Drive.
We use motor coaches when possible. When we do, it is customary to tip the driver $2-3 cash.
Make sure you have emergency info/contacts in your wallet.
Some are allergic to perfume so we ask that you keep your fragrance to a minimum.

The amazing history of the Edgefield will be revealed today. Edgefield, is just outside of Portland and was built in 1911 as the county poor farm. It’s a 74-acre parcel of farmland at the mouth of the spectacular Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area. Today we’ll be given a tour of the hotel, visit the gardens, enjoy lunch and look at the amazing art. Edgefield is continually being re-envisioned, renewed and refreshed. Even if you think you’ve seen it all, keep your eyes open -- the artists are in perpetual motion so you never know what you’ll find around the bend. instantU.S. Cavalry and American Indian Museum

A spectacular collection that covers the history of the U.S. Cavalry from 1861 to 1943 as well as the American Indians and their daily life, spirituality and society. The collectors have been collecting for 30 years to offer insight into the daily life of the Indians which reaches back as far as 25,000 years.  This is a must see, located in Blue River along the beautiful McKenzie River.  After the museum tour we will head to the Stage Stop Café for lunch. Coastal Crab Feed @ Depoe Bay

Depoe Bay is our destination, crab is what we want. Enjoy local, succulent crab today. Indoor and outdoor dining will be available, with a selection of thirst-quenching brews in the beer garden. U of O Campus Walking Tour

Come tour our vibrant University of Oregon campus. The walking tour is 1.5 hours and includes: most of the academic department buildings, the main library on campus, the student recreation center, the student union building, the Ford Alumni building and the Jaqua Center. Please note this is a walking tour; wear comfortable walking shoes. We will take breaks when we can and then enjoy lunch at The Carson Dining facility on campus. Your cost includes: transportation, tour and lunch.

Getting to Know Scio

Scio is the tenth oldest town in Oregon and was incorporated in 1866.  Scio refers to itself as the “Covered Bridge Capital of the West”. There are five bridges out of a total of eight in Linn County.  It is also home to the ZCBJ Hall, a lodge built beside Thomas Creek in 1922 by the large Czechoslovakian population then living in the area.  Today we will enjoy this little town, the Scio museum, veterans memorial and roaring river fish hatchery.  After our guided tour we will head off to have lunch at the Covered Bridge.  Your cost includes: transportation, tour, museum entrance and lunch.

Little Theater on the Bay in North Bend is calling us to return and when they call, we listen. Paint Party with Thirst 2 Create

Take a trek to Eugene Wine Cellars tasting room in the hip Whitaker neighborhood near downtown Eugene.  There we will participate in a joyful paint party by Thirst 2 Create.  All art supplies and instructions will be provided for you to paint flowers that dance against a golden backdrop on a 16 x 20-inch canvas. This is a great beginner piece and you’ll receive very good step by step instruction. You will have an opportunity to taste and purchase specialty wines while creating your very own masterpiece. Willamette Heritage Center

Today we’re heading to Salem where we will enjoy the docent led tour of early settlement homes and Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. The Woolen Mill was recently written up in the Register Guard so it’s time we venture up and take a look. They will guide us through the exhibits and share the stories of the people, homes and businesses on site. Your cost includes: transportation, 2 tours and lunch.

The Broadway Rose in Portland is where we will enjoy tonight’s performance. Zip Line Adventure

Feeling wild? Ever wanted to fly through the air with the greatest of ease? Now is your chance! Located 30 minutes west of Portland, Pumpkin Ridge Zip tour reaches heights of between 15 and 120 feet. The tour is designed to slowly ease people into the experience. Each line will steadily get higher, longer and faster, which is great because you will get braver and braver too. There are seven zip lines on the tour, plus three suspension bridges. Experienced guides will lead you through the course, so prior zip experience is not necessary. There will be some walking involved between some lines and at the beginning and end of the tour. There is a walk along a 90 degree suspension bridge, if you are able to comfortably climb a steep staircase - you can do it!  You need to be able to hold the cable trolley and lift your knees up while you are zipping.  Must not weigh over 280 pounds and you definitely want to wear sturdy shoes. Now, back to the fun stuff… flying through the air, seven incredible lines, spectacular views and an awesome good time. Check this one off your bucket list! We return to the beautiful city of Ashland and the wonderful Oregon Shakespeare Festival. This year we will take in two outstanding shows, “Othello” and “Sense and Sensibility.” Accommodations are at the lovely Plaza Inn right in downtown Ashland, close to shops, restaurants and Lithia Park. There will also be plenty of free time for shopping in Jacksonville and Ashland! Fees include transportation, lodging, tickets, breakfast, one dinner and snacks; other meals are on your own. If you cancel and want a check refund, $5 will be deducted for admin processing. No cancellation fee for refunds in the form of a credit.
