This program is for Medicare/Medicaid eligible Heath plan members. Contact your insurance provider to see if you qualify and to obtain your Fitness ID Number. If you qualify, stop by the front office to set up your account and pick up your Key FOB. Silver & Fit/Renew active members are required to scan in using their key fob when they use the facility or take a class. You are entitled to access our fitness center and pool at no charge. All fitness classes are open to Silver & Fit-Renew active members unless otherwise noted.

 

Arthritis Exercise Program

The Arthritis Exercise Program uses gentle activities to help people with arthritis increase joint flexibility and range of motion, maintain muscle strength and decrease pain. Bones & Balance

This class is geared toward the young at heart from a seated or standing position. Step’n Out With Kathy

This is designed to promote the benefits of walking and a healthy lifestyle. Walks will last about an hour and will begin and end at the River Road Park Annex, 1055 River Road. River Road Park and Recreation District offers several different options for entry into our fitness classes. We offer some classes as registered classes and some classes as fitness pass classes, with several opportunities for drop-in participation as well. A fitness class pass allows you a specific number of visits to certain fitness classes. See below for a list of classes.

 

All Fitness Pass sales are final. No refunds will be issued for unused visits. Drop in class fee can only be applied toward the cost of a Fitness Pass within 24 hours of attending the class is was purchased for.

Suspension Training

Suspension training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously.  We use a suspension training tool that leverages gravity and your body weight to complete a variety of exercises for a total body workout.  Great for beginner through advanced. This racket sport is similar to badminton, tennis and racquetball. It is a simple paddle game played using a special perforated slow-moving ball over a tennis type net on a badminton sized court. Check the board in the lobby for any schedule changes.

Core Yoga A.M.

Ages 18+. Individual classes vary but may include a yoga flow sequence, which warms and tones the whole body. A series of standing and floor poses are designed to increase hip flexibility, and strengthen the lower back and abdominal muscles. Pelvic floor strengtheners are emphasized. Focus on strengthening the upper core (arms, shoulders, chest). Chronic low back pain, indigestion, constipation, lack of energy, and other ailments are some of the issues addressed. This is not a gentle yoga class though beginners are welcome. Seniors need to be able to get up and down from the floor easily. Instructor: Glenda King.

Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra

This yoga practice begins with gentle, restorative movement designed to promote relaxation and unwind tension in the body. The remainder of the class features simple, guided meditation called Yoga Nidra, which is, in short, an ancient sleep-based meditation technique. When the mind is escorted into the background, the wisdom of the body is able to come through and facilitate natural healing work. Qigong for Health and Wellness

Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient set of “energy exercises” originating in China that are practiced to increase and balance the body’s energy to promote holistic health and wellbeing. Qigong is related to, but much older and sometimes called “the father” of, tai chi. Qigong exercises are simple, easy to learn, relaxing and energizing. Mindful breathing is coordinated with meditation and movement exercises in seated and standing postures. Studies have documented that Qigong’s gentle exercises may benefit: pain and fatigue, muscle tone and bone density, cardiovascular and lung functioning, stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, balance and coordination, cognitive function and memory, immune system and digestion. Tae Kwon Do

Ages 7+. Tae Kwon Do is a traditional Korean martial art performed with empty hands, bare feet and a strong spirit. Students in the beginning class will learn kicking and hand techniques for self-defense, while developing their physical fitness and self-confidence. The intermediate class offers advanced training in non-contact sparring forms of self-defense skills for students wishing to advance in the belt ranking system. Looking for one-on-one personal training? Our ACSM and NASM Certified Personal Trainers are committed to helping people feel and move better. Each workout takes approximately forty-five (45) minutes to complete and focuses on controlled strength, balance, and movements that increase flexibility, mobility, and agility. Existing clients may contact the Pool office, 541-461-7777, directly. Cost: $30 per session.

 

 

Personal Exercise Orientation

Invest up to an hour and a half with our certified Personal Trainer and realize the difference a stronger, healthier body can make. Whether you desire to lose fat, gain strength and/or increase your cardio-respiratory endurance, our experienced trainer will design a personalized, basic exercise regime for you and show you how to effectively use the Fitness Center equipment. Please contact the District office, 541-688-4052 to schedule your appointment today! $45 per session.

 

Fitness Center Equipment

Our fitness center is climate controlled and offers a wide variety of selectorized weight stations, free-weights and a variety of equipment for cardiovascular improvement.

 

Fees

Coin lockers: 25¢. The locker fee can be added to the 10 visit pass.

Procedures for Fitness Center UseFitness Center Equipment

1. All users must sign an Acknowledgement of Procedures form.

 

2. Check in at the pool office before using the Fitness Center.

 

3. Please DO NOT CROSS THE POOL DECK to enter the Fitness Center.

 

4. Please shower before using the pool/spa/sauna.

 

5. Pool is not always available during Fitness Center hours. Please refer to pool schedule.

 

6. You must be 16 years or older to use the Fitness Center.
