Learn the finer points of self-myofascial release to help you reduce the risk of injury while exercising, participating in your favorite sport, and/or activities of daily living.  Self-myofascial release, also known as Foam Rolling helps correct muscle imbalances, relaxes muscles, improves joint range of motion, reduces soreness, and much more.  Come join us to learn the proper techniques, what areas to avoid, and how to improve your flexibility, mobility, while lowering your risk of injury.

River Road Park and Recreation District offers several different options for entry into our fitness classes. We offer some classes as registered classes and some classes as fitness pass classes, with several opportunities for drop-in participation as well. A fitness class pass allows you a specific number of visits to certain fitness classes. See below for a list of classes.


All Fitness Pass sales are final. No refunds will be issued for unused visits. Drop in class fee can only be applied toward the cost of a Fitness Pass within 24 hours of attending the class is was purchased for.

New Class! Fit Frenzy Outdoor Bootcamp

A fit test will be performed on day 1, and the last day of this session.  Fit Frenzy Outdoor Bootcamp provides a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core, and functional movement patterns to help you get into the best shape of your life. Then there is “the after burn.” Ann uses a scientifically proven exercise formula to create Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) that increases your metabolism for several hours after your workout! Yep! You burn fat for HOURS after your workout!  Learn to properly fuel your body for optimum performance, and without deprivation or crazy extremes. This class is held outside in the park.

The following sessions meet at the North Eugene High School courts located at 200 Silver Lane. River Road Park’s Tennis program is open to players of all ages and experience levels, from novice to advance. Activities taught include fundamentals, drills, rules, positioning, strategy, and singles / doubles games. All lessons are weather permitting. Additional lessons are available by arrangement. This racket sport is similar to badminton, tennis and racquetball. It is a simple paddle game played using a special perforated slow-moving ball over a tennis-type net on a badminton sized court. Check the board in the lobby for any schedule changes. No pickleball on 5/29.

Core Yoga for Women

Class focuses on the core of the body using hatha and tantra yoga poses. A short yoga flow sequence helps energize the body. Restorative Yoga

This yoga practice begins with gentle, restorative movement designed to promote relaxation and unwind tension in the body. The remainder of the class features simple, guided meditation called Yoga Nidra, which is, in short, an ancient sleep-based meditation technique. When the mind is escorted into the background, the wisdom of the body is able to come through and facilitate natural healing work. Personal Training

Looking for one-on-one personal training? River Road Park and Recreation District is pleased to announce that it now offers personal training. Our ACSM Certified Personal Trainers are committed to helping people feel and move better. Each workout takes approximately forty-five (45) minutes to complete and focuses on controlled strength, balance, and movements that increase flexibility, mobility, and agility. As one of our Certified Personal Trainers states, “There’s nothing wrong with being strong.” To set up your initial individualize personal training session, please contact the District office, 541-688-4052. Existing clients may contact the Pool office, 541-461-7777, directly. Cost: $30.00 per session


Personal Exercise Orientation

Invest up to an hour and a half with our certified Personal Trainer and realize the difference a stronger, healthier body can make. Whether you desire to lose fat, gain strength and/or increase your cardio-respiratory endurance, our experienced trainer will design a personalized, basic exercise regime for you and show you how to effectively use the Fitness Center equipment.
