Correct Practice of Tai Chi forms can improve posture, flexibility and balance. Workshop: Introduction to Yoga Therapy
What is yoga therapy? Working with individuals one-on-one, you will develop an individualized treatment plan based upon uptake of information, involvements of passive or active participation and hands on treatments used in alignment and adjustments. Treatment options include breathing practices, poses yoga inquiry, lifestyle recommendations, home practice suggestions and support, goal setting and meditation. Chair Yoga 
Chair Yoga is a great option for those who find it hard to get up and down from the floor. Yoga helps reduce pain, stretches and relaxes the body, and calms the mind. The poses will be adapted as much as possible for specific individual challenges. The main goal in this class is to stretch and relax the whole body and to have fun doing it. Held at River Road Annex, 1055 River Road. This class is co-sponsored by River Road Park and the Successful Aging Institute at Lane Community College.

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance
Level 1. This 8-form Tai Chi derived from traditional 24-form set is based on scientific studies and is designed to help improve balance and prevent falls. All movements adhere to fundamental principles of Tai Chi: involving weight-bearing and nonweight- bearing stances, good body alignment and coordinated movements with the inhale/exhale breathing cycle. Movements are taught in sets which can be performed separately and linked to form a sequential routine. Held at River Road Annex, 1055 River Road. Instructor: Don Hildenbrand.

Tai Chi: Qigong & Yang Tai Chi
Level 2. Yang Tai Chi is a meditation art intended to promote the smooth flow of Chi (life force) throughout the body. Tai Chi is excellent for balance, flexibility, endurance, cardio-vascular efficiency and muscle strength. It helps with arthritis and other problems associated with aging. The easy 24-movement Yang form is taught along with meditation sets based on the form and the Tai Chi Chi Kung 13-movement set. The Tai Chi ruler movement sets are also explored. Tai Chi Sword for Health & Fitness
Level 3. Tai Chi Sword combined with Qigong (Internal Work)and Tai Chi principles improve strength and fitness. Good foroverall health, joint flexibility, and cardio-vascular functions. Emphasis is on meditation. Movements are slow and easy toperform. Learn the short, medium and long forms. Sword forms are based on Yang and Chen Styles of Tai Chi.
