Seniors in Motion: Deep Water

This one-hour class is offered to the “Senior” Adult 55+ who remains active amongst their peers. Increase your flexibility and range of motion in a no-impact environment as you work on strengthening, toning & conditioning. Priority registration will be given to those 55 and older. Other adults will be permitted to register/drop in with the instructors approval. Note: This class is of a moderate to active intensity level. Those wishing a less intense workout must enroll in a different class.
Monday-Friday . . . 9:30-10:30am

Seniors in Motion: Shallow Water

A one-hour class offered to the “Senior” Adult 55+ who remains active amongst their peers. Improve your strength, balance, posture, endurance and agility in a moderately paced activity conducted in 4-6 feet of water. Priority registration will be given to those 55 and older. Other adults will be permitted to register/drop in with the instructors’ approval. Note: This class is of a moderate to active intensity level. Those wishing a less intense workout must enroll in a different class.

Motivated Seniors

Enjoy a one hour moderately paced exercise program that utilizes both shallow and deep water. This class is offered to those 55+ and is designed to develop flexibility, strength, and endurance. Priority registration will be given to those 55 and older. Other adults will be permitted to register/drop in with the instructor’s approval. Note: This class is of a moderate intensity level. Those wishing to participate in a program of greater or lesser intensity must enroll in a different class.

photoWater Fitness for Adults of All Ages

Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program

This 45-minute shallow water program is ideal for people with arthritis and arthritis-like conditions, as well as general muscle stiffness and/or chronic pain. Led by National Arthritis Foundation-trained instructors, our program provides joint (range of motion) movement, overall body core (abdominal and lower back) strengthening, and muscle endurance, balance and flexibility segments. Note: Class intensity will be kept to a beginners’ level. Those wishing an increase in intensity must enroll in a different class. All ages are welcome!

This one-hour class is designed for the active adult and provides a 20-25 minute aerobic fitness segment. A progression of exercises are introduced to maximize cardiovascular conditioning; and enhance one’s flexibility, range of motion, muscle strength, and toning. Priority registration will be given to adults capable of exercising at an aerobic pace.

Newbie Class

A 45-minute class that provides a moderate level of activity, for those looking to “start” or “return” to a fitness program, and/or for prenatal and/or post-natal moms.This class is designed to transition you into the next level of other classes.

Water Exercise Introduction/Review

New to Water Exercise or returning after an absence? Register for a (30) minute, one-on-one introduction to the world of water fitness. Emphasis will be on proper water exercise equipment use, as well as identifying correct posture and standard exercises for shallow and/or deep water.

Upon completion, the instructor will recommend the next step to take for your water exercise endeavors.

Be sure to arrive a few minutes early, so as to meet your instructor and fill out a participation form, (includes medications and medical history). Please bring a swimsuit & towel, as the session includes both dry & water times.

Cost: $15
Fee can be applied towards registration of a complete session of water exercise classes during the current term. Inquire and prepay for your appointment at the Park District office.
