Introduction to competitive swimming

Interested in trying competitive swimming? Then join this program, and receive coaching and instruction in stroke mechanics, competitive starts and flip turns.
Ages 5-8 years
Session 1 (1/9-2/6) . . . Saturday . . . 8:45-9:30am . . . $16 (no class 1/30)
Session 2 (2/23-3/13) . . . Saturday . . . 8:45-9:30am . . . $20

photoRiver Road Swim Club

Ages 5-College. The River Road Swim Team is sponsored by the River Road Park with the help of the River Road Swim Club. TThere are meets for swimmers of all ability levels in which they compete against others of their own age/gender.

All members need to be registered with United States Swimming (USS) prior to swimming any U.S. Swimming sanctioned meets. ($56 per year) Novice meets excluded.

WHITE GROUP

This group is designed for a variety of swimmers: 1) Children new to competitive swimming; 2) children wishing to improve and learn new strokes; 3) children experienced with swim team, but not ready for the red group. Minimum requirements: swimmers need to be able to comfortably swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards back crawl. Swimmers in this group either swim three (3) or five (5) practices a week. Please feel free to join anytime during the season.

RED GROUP

Swimmers attending this group should be at least 12 years old and able to swim all four competitive strokes (as designed by U.S. Swimming Rules) and be ready for some challenging practices. Swimmers in this group average a minimum of 6 practices per week. (Coaches approval required)

Family Participation
River Road Sim Club depends on the volunteer time of our families to help support and run a successful club. We require families to help with our fund-raising and volunteer efforts. Without this, the dues for each swimmer would dramatically increase. For more information contact one of the coaches.
